On To Greener Pastures

Yesterday was my last day at work. It was a fantastic day. While I have learned a TON over the past few years (at Job A), I am very much ready to move on and start my new job in a completely different industry (Job B). Different is good. I accept change with open arms. Well…sometimes. When they closed down the Starbucks in my favorite mall…didn’t handle that change so well.

Anyway, I am very happy with my decision of sticking it out and going about resigning the right way (versus running away screaming and pulling my hair out) because I was able to tell so many people goodbye. Lots of people had kind words for me, even the CEO of the company. It just made me realize how much I was loved and valued by these people. And that felt good.

Now I will no longer be sitting behind a desk all day, in a “closet” (it really was an office, but it was about the size of a large closet) with no window, with scary grey-ish white walls, and florescent lighting, staring at a computer screen until my eyes explode. No more I say! But this was my first REAL job after college and for that, I am thankful.

I can’t wait to see what’s on the other side!

Oh yeah, and before I start Job B, I am taking a week off. Saweet!!!

On to other things. It’s Saturday morning and I’m officially lazy! I have a hair appointment in about 4 hours and all I want to do is stay in bed. That may have something to do with the fact that in order to celebrate my emancipation from Job A, I had a dirty martini and a ginormous beer. So, I’m a lightweight. Gimmie a break. And due to the dirty (and seriously, it was gross) martini and ginormous beer, my sleep was kind of screwy. I had weird dreams and woke up several times (6:30, 7:00, 7:15) thinking I needed to be somewhere. On top of getting screwy sleep, it’s cloudy outside today. So it makes me feel even MORE lazy. And I’m not usually lazy on Saturdays! I save my extreme laziness for Sunday. Oy.

Ok, I must go get ready for my unlazy day now. Lots to do. And YAYYY, I don’t have to go back to Job A on Monday! Oh, it’s a fantastic feeling!
